„Core 2 Extreme Masters“ – So heißt das neue Topevent im E-Sport, welches von der ESL und Intel veranstaltet wird. Dabei tritt die Elite aus 24 europäischen Länder gegeneinander an um Preisgelder von insgesamt 160.000 € zu gewinnen.

Für die Disziplinen Warcraft 3 und Counter-Strike wird das Preisgeld bei einem rein europäischen Turnier das höchste aller Zeiten sein. Es sind jedoch Intel Friday Night Games in Hamburg, Paris, Stockholm und London neben den Lan-Finals geplant und die „ Core 2 Extreme Masters“ sind damit kein reines Online Turnier mehr.
Während für Counter-Strike ein Preisgeld von 110.000 € winkt, können die Warcraft 3 - Spieler 40.000 € abräumen. Darüber hinaus werden 10.000 € an Event-Prämien für Intel Friday Night Games ausgelost, womit man auf die Gesamtsumme von 160.000 € kommt.
Die nationale ESL in Deutschland, Griechenland, Italien und den Alpenländern wird ihre Teilnehmer selbst bestimmen. Je höher die relative Stärke eines Landes, desto mehr Slots bekommt es. Das heißt wenn ein Land sehr viele stark spielende Teams bekommt es mehr Slots für die „ Core 2 Extreme Masters“.
In Länder ohne nationale ESL Pro Series gilt dies ebenfalls und es werden die Slots über nationale Qualifikationsturniere vergeben. |

die Sache wird von der ESL ausgetragen und ESL gehört genauso wie Giga zu Turtle Entertainment und aus dem Grund werden die wohl Exklusivrechte haben ;) |
